A small group of us worked on the house on Feb. 20th. It was a chilly day with some occasional snowflakes but we were able to get a lot accomplished! Our first project was to install windows. It was very rewarding to see the progress we made.
Habitat was gracious enough to allow us to heat up a crockpot of soup in their office which is right around the corner. So we assembled there for a nice hot lunch and were able to get warmed up and ready to get back to work for the afternoon!
After lunch we did some insulation foaming to continue the quest to make the home airtight. Then we tackled the front door! We all learned a lot about getting a door installed so that it is perfectly level and closes just right. We also built a temporary brace to keep the door from swinging open until the locks are installed. Another productive day on the Friends and Family of Brian Kimble House!!
