Kitchen Cupboards and Carpets etc.

The upper kitchen cabinets have been installed! Habitat has its own cabinet shop and all kitchen cupboards are built there. The lower cabinets are predicted to be in within the week. The countertop is also on site (leaning against the wall) and is ready to be set in place as soon as the cabinets arrive. The cardboard you see is there to protect the flooring that has already been installed.

The carpeting has also been installed and really dresses the rooms up! The stairway, the upstairs hall, and all the bedrooms are carpeted.

Other changes that we noticed included a railing on the basement stairs, stanchions for the upstairs railing, sidewalks from both the front and side porches, smoke alarms, doorbell, and a blacktopped driveway. The electrical system, with its mass of wires, is now fully functional as is the heating and cooling system.
