Ground Breaking
Ground Breaking
September 17th was a beautiful day filled with God's blessings! The sun was shining as more than 50 people gathered at 42 Arch Street for the groundbreaking ceremony of the Brian Kimble Friends and Family house. After uplifting sharings from Kevin, Tim (Habitat's COO), Laurie, and our homeowner Nyasia, Pastor Larry blessed the land, the house and the family soon to live there. One of the many blessings of the day was when some of Nyasia's new neighbors came over to welcome her into the neighborhood.
After a countdown by Pastor Larry, eight shovels broke the ground and dirt went flying into the air! Each shovel represented a different aspect of our Brian Kimble Workdays and all who have been a part of them:
our faithful prayer warriors
all who have donated to Habitat in Brian's name
behind the scenes workers - chili makers, cookie bakers, lunch servers
all who have worked on the many houses we have been privileged to be a part of over these years
our photographer who blesses us with amazing pictures
Habitat construction supervisors
Nyasia, the future homeowner
our family
This house would not have been possible without all of you!!
Thank you for walking beside us with Habitat these past 18 years in Brian's memory. You have helped us turn a tragedy into a wonderful blessing. We eagerly await the arrival of the backhoes and diggers who will truly break this ground and turn this empty lot into a house for Nyasia and her 2 young boys.
Our hearts are overflowing with the love that all of you have bestowed upon our family. And we thank God for the support you have given us and continue to give us.
