Framing Frenzy
Framing Frenzy
Dear Friends,
On Saturday, August 17th our family was invited to put together a team of 8 people to take part in the first construction step of making the Friends and Family of Brian Kimble Habitat House a reality! We were part of a Framing Frenzy sponsored by the U of R Simon Business School. We met at East High School with about 100 Simon students to construct the walls of the house.
It was an amazing event! There were over 100 hammers singing together as nails were being pounded all over the parking lot. Both the interior and the exterior walls of the two story house were assembled. Then they were put onto a flatbed truck and delivered to the homesite at 42 Arch Street.
One of the highlights of the day was meeting Nyasia who will be the homeowner of the Friends and Family of Brian Kimble House. She has been working hard and already has over 100 of her required 200 sweat equity hours. You could find her with a hammer in hand also working alongside the students. She addressed us all and is very excited to own a home of her own for the first time.
