Saturday, August 2nd was a beautiful sun-filled day as about 65 people gathered in the backyard of 42 Arch Street for our home dedication! The house looked beautiful with the sun streaming through the windows. Some posters greeted everyone as they toured the house.
The theme of the dedication centered around 'Love.' First and foremost God's love for us. He has blessed our family in so many ways. He blessed us with a wonderful son who knew Jesus and now lives in the greatest house of all that was also built with love - the love of a savior who died on the cross that we might all be with Him for eternity.
This house has been built over the last 18 years by the donations of time, talent and treasure that the Friends and Family of Brian Kimble have invested in our yearly 'Brian Kimble Build Day' as they expressed their love for our son, Brian, and our family.
It has been built in love by an organization with a mission statement that reads "Seeking to put God's love into action, Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities and hope."
And now it is time for LaShaye and her family to fill this house with love and make it a home. Their home!
We presented LaShaye with a tangible reminder of the love that permeates the house.
Our site supervisor, Louis, presented LaShaye with a hammer that was used throughout the construction of the house. She also received a tool box for those inevitable home repairs, a quilt, a rock with a verse on it that was harvested from the digging of the foundation, a coat rack, and most importantly a Bible.
All in attendance lifted their arms to the house as Pastor Larry prayed for God's blessings upon LaShaye and her family in their new home. They will be moving in at the beginning of September.
Thankfulness was also a theme of the dedication. Thankfulness for God's hand on this home, thankfulness for Habitat, for Brian, and for LaShaye.
And a heartfelt thank you to all who have been a part of supporting this house and the 'Brian Kimble Build Days' over the last 18 years. You are forever embedded in our hearts!
